This Shaq 2001 Los Angeles Lakers NBA Championship Ring was given to the Lakers players and staffs after the team defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 4-1 in the NBA Finals. Shaq was named the Finals MVP.
For the second year in a row, the Lakers chose Henry Kay of Chicago to design their championship ring. The ring is made of 14k gold paved with yellow diamonds on the background.
Furthermore, this was the first and only ring at that time to use yellow diamond on an NBA Championship Ring.
Designed inspiration from a bezel setting, it has the words ‘World Champions’ encircling the side of the shank.
On the side of the ring, it has a Lakers logo along with words ’Back 2 Back’ to commemorate the consecutive victory of the franchise. On the bottom of the band, it has the championship year engraved.
While on the player side of the ring, each player name is engraved with the number 15-1 and the NBA logo in the center of the band which represents teh best league History of the Los Angeles Lakers.

The 2002 NBA Championship ring was the heaviest championship ring ever made. Front of this Championship ring features a center trillion cut diamond representing the triangle offense technic. Also, with word ‘Back Back Back’ representing the three consecutive victory of the franchise. Also, the 3 smaller trillion cut diamond around the center gemstone also represents the 3rd consecutive victory.
On the player side of the ring, it features each player’s name, along with an NBA logo and the player’s number.
Team side of the ring includes words ‘Slam Dunk’ and ‘Chick’ to commemorate the NBA announcer Chick Hearn who passed away over the off-season.
